Frater Family Wines is the epitome of family wine farming, and each grape and wine is harvested and made in the honour of a member of the Frater family.

Wine maker John-Robert Frater is the 5th generation winemaker on De Zoete Inval Estate and still resides on the estate with his wife and three children.

2022

Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot

Complex and layered aromas of blackcurrant, raspberry and sweet spice are further complemented by notes of white pepper, cigar box on the nose. The palate has a plush, juicy red and black fruit core with seamless, integrated tannins. Kaleidoscope of sensuality melded into firm yet friendly build. A well-balanced, structured wine with grace and elegance. Beautiful savoury notes on the finish.

Cape Vintage

Only 4 barrels produced. Viscous, almost molten with a deep dark colour and full ripe Shiraz spiciness. Powerful yet elegant, seductive with a sweet nudge. Fruit cake richness delivered in a smooth textured form, appetizing and ready to be enjoyed.
